We would just like to thank everyone that came out for Bowling last Saturday Night. It was a lot of fun. We had well over 50 people show up to the event. We look forward to doing more “Family Fun” nights and also some other activities.

Check out the opinion polls to vote on what type of event you would like to see us do next. If you can think of any others that are not listed in the opinion poll, please email me and we’ll see about adding it to the calendar.

Tony Jaa Highlight Reel

Posted: July 15, 2010

I came across this Tony Jaa highlight reel, and I thought everyone would enjoy it. I can’t say I’m a big fan of the music in this video, but the action is pretty amazing. Tony Jaa is known for doing his own stunts and also for not using wires or special effects. I think the only scene in this clip that is altered is the helicopter clip at the end. I don’t know if that was done with a safety harness or if it was shot against a green screen, or maybe there is something to fall on just outside the view of the camera. Please post a comment if you know the answer.

In any case, Tony Jaa is amazing, and I’m a big fan. After watching this video, you probably will be as well.

Flexibility and Martial Arts

Posted: July 13, 2010

When many people think of martial arts, the first images that come to mind are those of high kicks and flying through the air. Because of this, many adults question whether or not they could ever do martial arts. Some think they can never be proficient due to their lack of flexibility, but this is simply not true.

First and foremost martial arts training is about self-protection, and self-improvement. Everyone needs to be able to protect themselves and their loved ones and everyone should strive to be better tomorrow than they are today.

I have met good martial artists that are confined to wheelchairs, and martial artists with other physical disabilities. What makes them great is their ability to work around their challenges to become proficient in self-protection and self-improvement.
