This is a news clip on the story behind the story.
Modern Day Samurai
Posted: May 18, 2011
Being that this is a martial arts blog, we always speak of various different martial arts. Unfortunately, I very rarely get a chance to speak of the Samurai, so I was very happy to come across this video.
Granted, this is not a real bullet; but this demonstration is still extremely impressive.

Since we teach Silat at our Academy, I thought our students would appreciate a great Silat clip that I came across. I especially like the way he uses the sarong.
Working Hard and Children
Posted: May 14, 2011
Since we teach children at our Academy (Elite Martial Arts). I am always on the lookout for articles on child psychology and teaching children. I came across this article, and I thought that the parents of our students would find it interesting.
We always try to praise and encourage children to act the right way. This is just a normal function of good parenting and good teaching. The study quoted in this article seems to indicate that not all “praise” is equal. Do you praise your child for effort, or for talent and which is better? It’s something that most of us don’t think about, but perhaps we should.
The article is from a British publication, so there are some alternate spellings, and they refer to things by different names than we do in the United States; but you will no doubt find it enlightening. The link is posted below. I hope you enjoy it.
